Book Review
When seventeen year-old Bella Swan leaves sunny Arizona to live with her father in the small and gloomy Pacific North-West town of Forks she doesn’t expect to like it. After all she has made excuses not to go there enough times over the past few years. If living in Forks, with its constant mist and rain, wasn’t bad enough she will have to make a whole new set of friends and settle into a new school. Not only that but her and her father aren’t very close.
Bella soon makes some new friends at school but when she sees a boy named Edward Cullen sitting with his brothers and sisters in the cafeteria she is instantly fascinated. Edward is stunningly attractive, almost inhumanly beautiful, and yet he is an outsider too. Although Edward and his family have lived in Forks for two years they have never really been accepted by the townsfolk.
At first Edward is unfriendly, sometimes it almost seems like he can’t stand to be in the same room as her, but eventually they strike up an unlikely friendship. Even as Bella falls hopelessly and permanently in love with Edward, she still can’t work out exactly what makes him so different to everyone else.
On a trip to the beach, Bella is told of the local legend about the “cold ones”, a group of blood drinkers who have sworn off hunting humans but are still not welcome on Indian land because vampires are not to be trusted. Realizing Edward is vampire changes nothing for Bella, she knows that she still loves him even if he’s not human.
Edward and his whole family are vampires. Edward himself was made a vampire when he was seventeen years-old, although that was at the end of World War I. For Edward his love for Bella is both a delight and a torment. A delight because she is the first person he has loved since he was made a vampire. A torment because although he has sworn off human blood and only hunts animals the craving for human blood never truly leaves him and the very scent of her also stirs his hunger for blood. He loves Bella very much but is afraid he will not be able to control himself and may hurt her.
Twilight is the story of Edward and Bella’s romance. Forget any vampire romance you have read before, Twilight is so unique it is almost like it’s in its own genre. The book is marketed at Young Adult readers but it has the ability to cross age barriers and will satisfy both teenagers and adults alike.
The story is told in first person from the perspective of Bella, so the reader only ever know what she knows, making Edward and his family a mystery that is slowly tattered through out the book. Even by the end of the book I was still thirsting for more of the Cullen family back story - hopefully their characters might be developed further in future books. Bella herself is a well written and realistic character, shy and lacking in confidence, her sarcastic inner voice narrates the story for the reader.
The romance between Edward and Bella is both touching and compelling. There is a melancholic feel to their impossible love, yet at the same time they both are unwilling to give up hope that their relationship is not doomed. The book reaches a fever pitch of excitement as the romance between Bella and Edward turns into a frantic race to stay alive.
I have heard Twilight described as “a vampire story for people who don’t like vampire stories” and I think I would agree with that. This book really has something for everyone. Young adult readers, vampire fans or romance readers will all find Twilight to be an appealing story. For a Young Adult novel the book is quite long but don’t let that put you off reading it because each page is to be appreciated. Believe me, this is one book that you won’t want to end.

Alumni Night
During basketball season at Tongue River High School, the basketball students and coaches would play their last game in the old gym. TRHS had been around for 50 years. Faculty and students wanted to make the last home game ever, the most memorable. FCCLA members put on the alumni night, and invited all past students and players that attended TRHS. They decorated the school and gave out jackets. In-between varsity games they announced all the graduates and had them stand up. The varsity boy’s basketball team wore old jerseys in memory of all the graduates. The alumni night was a success and will always be remembered. We the students are now in the new school, and the old school is being tore down. Past graduates and current students will always remember the old school because of the alumni night.
The FCCLA students put alot of effort into making the alumni night a night to remember. They had months of planning the event and getting everything together. They were incharge of calling all the previous graduates and asking them to please join us at the last game in the gym. They created jackets to give to some of the alumnis. The FCCLA students put the night together as a FCCLA project. The night was very well done, and it was obvious everyone there enjoyed it.
Inbetween the boys and girls varsity games they asked everyone that graduated in certain years to please stand up. As people slowly stood up it was shocking how many people actually attended the event. People from each year were standing and the gym was packed with people. They gave the attendies their jackets and continued on with the night.
The night of the event was a big game for the varsity boys. They were playing sundance and wanted to beat them more then anything. They had already qualified for reagionals, as a team they decided to give the audience little surprise. They wore jerseys from previous years. They were "old school," as the team would say. The audience went crazy and you could tell it made an impact on them.
The alumni night was a very memorable night; For the past 50years of students and players, even the people didn't attend the high school. The new high school is now built and we have moved in. They are currently tearing the old school down, and soon there will be just a parking lot. Because of the alumni night that was one more memory that will allow people to never forget the old high school.

I have eaten at many different restaurants in my 15 years of living. Chili’s however has been the most enjoyable. The people were nice, the food was good and over all it was a fun environment.
When going into a new restaurant you want to feel welcome and be able to enjoy your time being there. Right when you walk into chili’s you feel that. The workers are extremely friendly. We had a person to seat us, and also a different person as a waitress. They were all extremely friendly and welcoming. They made sure that as costumers we were comfortable. They brought us our drinks and food as quickly as possible and made sure that we always had what we needed. Being in a restaurant with friendly people makes it that much more enjoyable.
I have always seen the chili’s commercials on TV and have always heard the food was really good. However, we don’t have a chili’s here which makes it hard to eat there. When we are traveling we try to eat there as much as we can. The food is amazing. They have so much variety and different foods. You portions are well worth the pay as well as the actual food. The food is a one of a kind, and is enjoyable every time. When going into chili’s the vibe is fun and entergetic. You can tell right away that the workers put alot of effort into make you feel welcome and want you to have a good time.
The atmosphere in Chili's is simple. Since most of their dishes revolve around the American southwest, and they have decorations to match. There are plenty of vintage advertisements for chilli cook offs and other fun things. The tables are decorated with tiles that match Native American art patterns of the American southwest. The restaurant is also quite spacious. The tables are all lined up against walls which allows for clear walking paths and keeps the place looking uncluttered.
I would advise anyone willing to try new and good food to try chili's. It is simple and a very over all great restaurant. Restaurants vary and are not all the same. However, most are very well worth the trip.

OPED 4/12/09
I agree that in the past years country music has changed, but i disagree that is has changed for the worst. Country is a very popular genre of music and has been for years and years. The meaningful thought in the lyrics are still as important as in the 70's. Country music today is just more moderate than in the 70's. Its not less meaning full though.
Country music is known for it's passionate lyrics, and always has been. Even though not every single song is about the land, or the south doesn't mean there isn't still songs about that out there. Many country artists today sing about the U.S.A and how they love the land. Other country artists sing about love and what they are passionate about. As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing at all wrong with that. They say country music has "changed and its just a bunch of blond whores singing about there former bed buddies." This statement is absurd. Country music is and always will be about what it has in the past. The only slight difference is that as modern day progresses so does modern country.
There's many different types of music styles. Country, Rock, Hip-Hop,and more. They have all changed with time. It's part of life. Everything changes, and is going to change. The fact that things change is not absurd, but the fact that people can't except the fact that things change is. Country music still has meaning and doesn't care what people think. They still sing about what they want and what interests them. The money and pop culture have nothing to do with it. It is simply change. Change, that's all it is. It has nothing to do with money, pop, other fame or publicity. Everything changes over time. The fact is, is that country music is being song with change. It still includes passion and talk about the land, just in a different sense.
I strongly disagree that country music is no longer enjoyable. I think everyone should be up for a little change. Country music will always have passion and heart in its lyrics. It will always talk about the land and be the same ole' country music. The only difference is, is it is modernized. People need to be willing to listen to it, just like in the 70's.

New School is a Drag
Alyssa Herman
Any normal person would be excited about moving into a new school, but when there’s ridiculous rules it’s impossible to enjoy. Both staff and students couldn't wait for TRHS’s brand new high school.
When the time finally arrived almost everyone was bummed about the ridiculous rules we had to suddenly put up with. After hearing from the students and adding my own take on the whole situation, I believe the school needs to lighten up. The two most ridiculous rules are that we can't have water, and that we can't even wear coats
First of all water is not a big deal at all. It doesn’t stain and it’s really easy to clean up. We clean the floors with water, why can't we drink it? Not only is this rule stupid, it’s insane. All we ever heard in the old school was "make sure you guys are drinking water." "It’s always good to have a bottle of water with you in class." It’s too much of a hassle to get up during class and drink out of the fountains. Even teachers get irritated that we can’t have water. We have become so use to having a bottle of water, and now all of a sudden it’s banned. I believe Mr. White is being terribly unreasonable. Especially when half the teachers don’t even follow the rules.
The school is not always warm. The heat doesn’t turn on till 7:00am. When we have really cold nights, which we do its Wyoming, the building takes too long to warm up. The past week in the school has been almost colder than outside. We should not be told whether we're aloud to wear coats are not. We are individuals and if I want to wear a coat I'm going to wear a coat. They haven't even given us a good reason why we shouldn’t wear coats. They said anything we wear outside we shouldn’t wear inside, well I think that if its colder in the building then outside, we should be allowed to wear a coat.
Mr. White and the teachers need to realize these little rules are unintelligent. It is NOT a big deal to have water in the class rooms, or to wear a coat. If they can give me one good reason why coats are a big deal, which they aren’t then maybe I will consider not wearing one.

The young girl was found dead in a suitcase.

After about 30 hours of deliberation, a jury on Monday convicted music producer Phil Spector of second-degree murder in the death of actress Lana Clarkson more than six years ago. Clarkson, 40, was found dead, slumped in a chair in the foyer of Spector's Alhambra, California, mansion with a gunshot wound through the roof of her mouth in February 2003. "This entire jury took this so seriously," she said with tears in her eyes, before adding that "it's tough to be in a jury," because another person's life is in the jury's hands.

Movie review
Role Models is a comedy about two loser best friends who work at an energy drink company. They get arrested for crashing a truck and then sentenced to 150 hours of community service or 30days in jail. Each of them has to act like big brother to a kid with major adjustment problems. They are assigned one kid and have to perform “big brother” activities with them. Danny (Paul Rudd), a 35-year-old mope who sounds as if his soul has been burnt to a crisp, and Wheeler (Seann William Scott), a woman chaser without a single mean bone in his body, arrive at the Sturdy Wings mentorship center and discover that trying to actually, you know, communicate with a kid is their own special therapy.
Wheeler is assigned to a 9 year-old handful of trouble, (Bobb'e J. Thompson) as mentally active as he is misbehaved, while Danny gets stuck with Augie, a narrow-minded teenage dork who devotes his afternoons to organized role-play. Christopher Mintz-Plasse plays this super-dweeb with such passion that you're not sure if you want to laugh at him, give him a pep talk, or slap him.
The four of them have their individual ups and downs, but soon realize how important one another are. The twisted comedy is based on friendship and not being selfish.
I would recommend this movie to anyone over the age of twelve. And who enjoys a good laugh.

They said anything we wear outside we shouldnt wear inside, well i think that if its colder in the building then outside i will wear my coat!.
Mr.White and the teachers need to realize these little rules are stupid. And that it is NOT a big deal to have water in the class rooms, or to wear a coat. If they can give me one good reason why coats are a big deal, which they arent then maybe i will consider not wearing one.

Any normal person would be excited about moving into a new school, but when there’s ridiculous rules it’s impossible to enjoy. Both staff and students couldn't wait for TRHS's bran new high school.
When the time finally arrived almost everyone was bummed about the ridculous rules we had to suddenly put up with. After hearing from the students and adding my own take on the whole situation, i beleive the school needs to lighten up. The two most riduculous rules are that we can't even have water, and that we can't even wear coats
First of all water is not a big deal at all. it doesnt stain and its really easy to clean up. we clean the floors with water, why can't we drink it? Not only is this rule stupid, its insane! All we ever heard in the old school was "make sure you guys are drinking water." "it's always good to have a bottle of water with you in class." Its to much of a hassle to get up during class and drink out of the fountains. Even teachers get irritated that we cant have water. We have become so use to having a bottle of water, and now all of a sudden its banned. I beleive Mr.White is being terribly unreasonable. Especially when half the teachers dont even follow the rules.
The school is not always warm. the heat doesnt turn on til 7:00am. when we have really cold nights, which we do its Wyoming, the building takes too long to warm up. The past week in the school has been almost colder than outside. We should not be told whether we're aloud to wear coats are not. we are individuals and if i want to wear a coat im goig to wear a coat! They haven't even given us a good reason why we shouldnt wear coats. They said anything we wear outside we shouldnt wear inside, well i think that if its colder in the building then outside i will wear my coat!.

Smokers feeling abused as federal tax hike hits
People are feeling abused by the cigarette smoking prices. A recent tax increase of almost 62 cents a pack is the highest increase ever. "They're picking on us poor people, the ones that smoke," Jukes, a 65-year-old who has been smoking since he was a teen, said of the government. "They have been for years."
Former Alabama judge indicted on inmate sex charges
A former south Alabama judge is accused of checking male inmates out of jail and forcing them to engage in sexual activity. The judge was indicted on 57 counts. Some believe in the charges while others believe it is racism. "Did you ever think of the fact that this is the only black circuit judge we've ever had in mobile County and that the right-wing Republicans have gotten rid of him?"
Ohio man seeks trial over getting DUI on motorized barstool
An Ohio man says he is seeking a jury trial on a charge of driving under the influence that was cuffed upon on him after he crashed the vehicle he was piloting, a barstool. He crashed during his attempt at a U-turn while speeding down the street in front of his home. "It was just an accident. I mean a little minor accident," Kile Wygle, 28, explained.
Man decapitates 5-year-old sister in front of officer
By the time the police officer kicked the door in, it was too late. Kerby Revelus was holding his 5-year-old sister, Bianca, and while the officer watched, he dragged a kitchen knife across her throat with such fury that he decapitated her. He stabbed his 17-year-old sister several times as well. The police and family are both unaware of what set him off.

Mr. White Interview
Recently classroom students were able to investigate their high school principles, Mr. White, vehicle. The students discovered and learned many things. They learned that Mr. White bought his are because he believed it was the most reliable. He bought his car in 82’ and although the outside may not look so great, it runs good. Mr. White quoted, “It is virtually indestructible,” and he wasn’t lying. He did not buy the car bran new, it was pre-owned by a woman. The door handle is broken; he put a strap on the door handle to open it. After having the vehicle for only 3-4 years he was in an accident. Mr. White stated that he ran a red light. Store Review
American Eagle is one of the most popular clothing stores in the malls today. They have fun, classic clothing for all ages.
At American Eagle it is extremely easy to find what you are looking for. They store is very organized and shows you where to go for what you are looking for. There are many different sections in the store. They have a section for “tops”, which has many different selections. They have T’s and Polo’s, Tank Tops, Hoodies and Sweaters, Outerwear, and others. They have a “bottoms” section, which as well as many different selections. Jeans, Shorts, Dresses, Skirts, Pants are all in this section. They give you a wide variety to pick from. They also have a section of “swim”. The swim area gives you the categories of each swimming suit to choose from. The have an “accessories” and “footwear” section as well. And like the other sections, it gives you different choices of each to choose from.
The clothes are American Eagle have proven to be long lasting. This is not a store where you buy clothes that only last a few months. They don’t rip, or shrink or change shape when you wash them. They keep their color as well. A top buyer of AE quoted “This is a great store- except at the one I go to- the employees are very helpful and if you pay attention to the care instructions, the clothes do last a long time. They are a lot cheaper than A&F or Hollister which is good during the economy these days.”
The employees at American Eagle are always very helpful. They are trained to help costumers with finding the perfect outfit for them. They are highly qualified, even just starting out. They are not rude when asked to help or say no. Most of the time they offer their assistance, you don’t need to ask. Also, they are on of the least expensive stores. They provide great deals on all their clothing. They have special credit cards and coupons that deliver discounts for the purchaser. They also always have sales on some item of clothing. They are a very affordable store.
I would recommend this store to any age. They sell boys and girls clothing and are just as helpful in each department. American Eagle is a great store to shop at, rather it be for your self of someone else.

The Caribbean islands had a blend full encounter when Lucy lime had murder her spouse Patrick passion fruit and her friend Mandy mango. Investigators say that the crime had taken place on May 21, 2009 at a hotel on the Caribbean Islands. The police had interrogated Lucy Lime that night when they found certain evidence of her committing the crime. As further evidence shows that the two victims were blended to a pulp and then drunk the massacred victims, this was a big investigation that brought the FBI. When asked Lucy Lime said that she new that her husband was having an affaire with her friend Mandy Mango and that she was an exotic dancer that her husband was seeing every other night. Lucy Lime only stated that she was at a salsa class when the murder happened; there was no evidence to conclude that. “I was devastated when I heard about the murder, it was like a piece of my heart was stolen from me,” Lucy Lime said.
The courts have not decided weather to hold this case here in the Caribbean or in America, as they were American citizens. Today we see that evidence has given a clear picture of the crime and the true killer behind the blended massacre. Lucy Lime is going to court in one weak to decide if she is innocent or guilty in the court of law. The question is will the case be solved or will it be blended into a complete mess between a lover full of hate and the lovers who were having their own love boat.

Jude by Kate Morgenroth. Still staggering from his drug-dealing father’s murder, moving in with the wealthy mother he never knew, and transferring to a private school, fifteen-year-old Jude is tricked into pleading guilty to a crime he did not commit.
Fifteen–year–old Jude believes that his mother abandoned him at birth. When his heroin–dealer father is murdered, the authorities discover that he is the son of DA and mayor candidate Anna Grady, and that he was kidnapped by his father at three weeks old. His mother welcomes him into her comfortable life and sends him to a private prep school. When a schoolmate dies of an overdose, Jude, though innocent, is mixed up. His mother's boyfriend, Harry, the deputy police commissioner, convinces him to take part in an elaborate charade to help Anna get elected on an anti–drug platform. Harry promises that once she's elected he will come forward with evidence that Jude is innocent. Instead, Jude is tried as an adult, sent to the state penitentiary for five years, and finds that Harry never meant to get him out at all. When Jude finally gets out he is more than determined to prove to his mom and everyone else that he is innocent.
Jude is full of suspense. Every moment kept me on my feet and waiting to see what was going to happen next. It was well written and I really enjoyed reading it. Kate Morgenroth has written other books, such as; Kill me first, Saved, Echo, and They did it with Love. I would like to read any other of her books. She’s a great writer and has great themes and ideas.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys suspense and great writing. This novel was intense, and hard to put down. Anyone of the age 13 and up would enjoy this book. Boy or girl. The basic idea of the book was good. About a boy who was confused and lost and had to turn it around on his own.

Don't go to work if you're sick -- please!
http://www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/worklife/02/02/cb.do.not.work.sick/index.html
During the winter more and more sickness occurs. Most workers can’t or won’t stay home from work. By not staying home they are spreading the sickness farther and faster. If it’s not possible to stay home then limit your contact with people. Its easier to stay home and get a good rest than to continue working and getting others sick.

DVD review 3
There’s nothing better than romance, laughs and great music. Nick and Norah’s Infinite Play list express all three concepts very well. It combines love, with laughter and good music to top it all off.
Nick and Norah are brought to together from love of music and ex-love. They are forced into a journey to find Norah’s crazy drunk friend, Caroline and their favorite band, “Where’s Fluffy.” Along the journey Nick’s ex-girlfriend is growing jealous of his and Norah’s attraction to each other. She follows them almost the entire way trying to break them up and make her move on Nick. Meanwhile, Nick’s band members are on the search for Caroline. She some how escaped from the van and is now drunk, lost and confused.
Nick and Norah’s Infinite Play List has one of the best casts it could have. Nick (Michael Cera) has appeared in films like “Superbad,” and “Juno,” two very successful movies. He can be funny, serious, and romantic when needed. Nick (Michael Cera) is rare and is mending a broken heart and a indistinguishable ability to play the bass. Norah (Kat Dennings) is questioning pretty much all of her assumptions about the world. Though they have nothing in common except for their taste in music, their rare encounter leads to an all-night hunt to find a legendary band's secret show and ends up becoming the first date in a romance that could change both their lives.
After a long night of trying to find Norah’s drunken friend, their favorite band and falling in love with each other Nick and Norah have had the night of their lives. Nick now knows that his ex-girlfriend doesn’t matter anymore, that he’s fine without her. And Norah has realized that life doesn’t suck so badly and that she can stand up for herself.
I recommend this movie to anyone who loves comedies, romance, and a great soundtrack. Anyone in their teens or early twenties would enjoy this movie. Without a doubt, the movie is so sociable that you may wish for a little more conflict, higher emotional risk, riskier jokes, a touch of danger throughout the night. Just about everyone in “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist” seems to be having a good time, and most of them seem like good kids (though Norah’s friend Caroline is probably headed for a period in rehab. Why resent them for having fun. This is great movie for almost anyone. It expresses joy and heartache, fun and not so fun.

Dr. Thomas came across an article just three days earlier on CNN.com that gave him information on a groundbreaking surgery tool. Movie Review
Will Ferrell and John Reilly play Brennan Huff and Dale Doback, two middle-aged slackers raised separately single parents on. If asked, both Brennan and Dale would say they're living the good life – no jobs, no goals, and no worries. Brennan and Dale are perfectly satisfied with sleeping in, watching TV, and not collecting a paycheck, but their parents have other plans. When Brennan's mom, Nancy, and Dale's dad, Robert fall in love and marry, the idea of having two grown men lay around the house doesn’t set well, especially when the men hate each other. Dale doesn't want to share his bedroom – or his drums – with this stranger. Brennan's equally unhappy about his mom's decision to combine their family with that of the Dobacks.
After taking an immediate dislike to one another, Brennan and Dale are forced into an edgy alliance when their parents decide it's time to send them out into the world. Discovering they have a lot more in common than they thought before, Brennan and Dale come up with a plan that involves singing, drumming, and Robert's prize possession, his boat. That he intends to sail around the world with when he and Nancy retire. Dale and Brennan become good friends and don’t leave each others side. They don’t know it but are secretly tearing Robert and Nancy apart. When they announce they are getting a divorce, Dale and Brennan are crushed. They blame each other for what is happening and suddenly become enemies again. They move out of the house and embark on their own journeys. Little did they know their future jobs would eventually get them back together.
Dale and Brennan are two 40 year old men that lived at home. They didn’t have jobs, or friends. When their parents got married and made them turn their lives around, that all changed. Dale and Brennan both grew up and matured. All this happened in one of the biggest comedy’s of the year. I recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of comedy’s and enjoys laughing.

Website review
Myspace is one of the largest sites on the internet. It allows members to meet new people from all over the world. It also has a huge music base, allowing bands to share their music with their fans and communicate as well. From the bands pages you can also add their songs to your page, from their music player. By adding music to your homepage from theirs it allows you and anyone else that attends your page to hear the music. It’s very easy to sign up and easy to use.
Using myspace is fun and easy. When on myspace the activities are endless. It allows you to search music, celebrities, artists, videos, ect. anything that may interest you. You can communicate with the artists and celebrities as well as your friends. On myspace you create your own profile for other users to view. On your profile you tell a little about yourself. There’s a background section, who I'd like to meet, a general, music, movies, and books. In these sections you give a brief summary of what you like and do. You can change and edit these sections as well as your profile anytime you want. When viewing other people’s profiles you can read their summaries. Also, you can leave messages, comments, and picture comments. The other person receives these as soon as they log on next and can write you back. MySpace allows you to have as many friends as you want, from anywhere you want.
I recommend MySpace to anyone who wants to meet new people or communicate with others. MySpace is easy to use and fun. Some strengths of this site are the ability to do so much. It lets users search, communicate, and listen to music, watch videos, ect. And it’s so easy. It is also safe. When setting up your profile it asks if you would like to make your profile private or public. Private meaning only the friends you accept can view your profile. You can also change this whenever you want by going to settings. Also, if someone requests an add with you, you have the choice to decline or accept it. If for some reason you want to delete your profile that as well is very simple. Some weaknesses of the site are it’s not 100% safe. There are ways around the private blockers. Overall, I believe MySpace is a great social networking site that anyone can be apart of.
MySpace is an extremely popular site. It’s easy to meet new people and use. There are many different things to do on MySpace. Being on MySpace you can communicate with friends, strangers or someone famous. It’s easy to listen to new music, and any artist that you want. You can look up new videos and new users. MySpace is safe, fun, easy and social. Again, I recommend it to anyone interested in meeting new people and communicating with others.
